A tragic incident was recorded in the rural region of Tapurah, Mato Grosso, when a worker was attacked and killed by a jaguar while repairing a fence on a farm located in Pontal do Borges.
The victim, identified as Dinalto Machado Lopes, 53 years old, was surprised by the animal while carrying out his activities. His disappearance raised suspicions among friends and property employees, triggering a search in the region.
After an operation, Dinalto’s body was found on the banks of the Borges River, approximately 300 meters from the site of the attack. Scratch marks and the absence of one hand indicated the brutality of the attack suffered.
Witness reports indicated the presence of jaguar cubs in the area in the days leading up to the incident, raising concerns about the animal’s presence in the region.
The victim’s body was sent for forensic examination, while the Civil Police began an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the incident. The local community mourns the loss of Dinalto and expresses solidarity with the bereaved family.
