One man died and another was seriously injured after a collision between a heavy vehicle and a light goods vehicle, on Friday night, on Estrada Nacional 109, in Picoto, municipality of Leiria.
Authorities were alerted to the accident at around 7:11 p.m. The Sub-regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command of the Leiria Region mobilized 16 operatives supported by six vehicles, including members of the National Republican Guard (GNR), firefighters and the National Institute of Medical Emergency.
The injured man was transferred to Leiria hospital. The investigation is in charge of the Accident and Traffic Criminal Investigation Unit of the Detachment of the National Traffic Unit of the GNR of Leiria.
