Cooperation is synonymous with development. The dictionary may not agree, but results demonstrate: day after day, cooperativism encourages the growth and evolution of communities. And it does this through people, as the Social Fund proves. The program, developed by Sicredi Ouro Branco RS/MG since 2018, has already invested more than R$4.2 million in projects that make a difference in people’s lives.

Coming from the results of the Cooperative, the Social Fund reinvests the wealth generated locally in the community. This year, the program provides R$1.42 million and receives applications until May 7th. Any legally constituted, non-profit entity, with CNPJ, Bylaws and/or its own registration can present its project. More information on the website sicrediurobranco.com.br or at agencies.

Transform together

Firefighting clothing for fire brigades, uniforms for marching bands, digital boards for schools. There are countless projects impacted by the Social Fund. Proposals in the areas of education, culture, sport, sustainability, safety and health, developed by non-profit entities and engaged in promoting quality of life for the community.

“Sicredi helps me help people”

The Associação Pequenos Notáveis, from Taquari, is an example of this. Working in favor of people with disabilities, the organization offers inclusive therapies that aim to promote the physical, emotional, mental and cognitive health of patients. “Sicredi helps me help other people. This is gratifying!”, says Lisiane Borda da Silva, president of the association, which was one of those benefiting from the Social Fund in 2023.

The Social Fund is an opportunity for us to demonstrate the strength that cooperativism – the union of people – has. With each supported project, we take a step towards the purpose of building a more prosperous society together. And the program is only possible because the community believes in the Cooperative. The more people join the movement, the more we will make our region grow.” Neori Ernani Abel, President of Sicredi Ouro Branco RS/MG
