Driver is involved in fatal accident, flees the scene and abandons injured passenger at the scene, in SC

This Saturday morning (27), a serious traffic accident on BR-282, near the municipality of Catanduvas, resulted in one fatality and left another person injured. The incident occurred at around 6:21 am and involved a collision followed by a lane departure between a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle.

According to information from the Fire Department, the Catanduvas OBM rescue team responded to the incident. Upon arrival, they found a VW Gol, whose driver had fled the scene, leaving a female passenger outside the vehicle. The woman, conscious and oriented, presented pain in the dorsal region and bruises on her body. She was promptly attended to by the team and taken to Santa Terezinha University Hospital, in Joaçaba, with stable vital signs.

Unfortunately, the driver of the Honda Biz motorcycle, a 38-year-old man, was found with multiple fractures and no vital signs. The General Institute of Expertise and the Federal Highway Police were called to carry out due legal procedures.
