Ministry of Maria do Rosário Palma Ramalho requested an urgent restructuring plan from the provider of Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, as well as the delivery of the 2023 Accounts Report.

The Ministry of Labor, Solidarity and Social Security demanded, on April 12, an urgent restructuring plan for the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa (SCML), this Monday the Public (paid access). The requirement was made to provider Ana Jorge when she was called to meet the new members of the ministry and take stock of the institution’s situation,

The request includes the delivery of the 2023 Accounts Report, whose positive net results are equivalent to ten million euros, although revenues for the first quarter of 2024 are below budget by more than 20 million.

It is also important to mention the fact that social games, corresponding to 85% of SCML’s profit, are losing place in the market to games onlinewithin a scenario in which a forensic audit, dated August 2023, detects 80 “nonconformities” in the internationalization of games, and points out responsibilities to all members of the panel led by former provider Edmundo Martinho and the managers of Santa Casa Global .
