Five people were injured after the driver of a car lost control of the steering wheel and crashed the vehicle into a pump at a gas station, this Monday morning (29), on the edge of Boca do Rio, in Salvador. Due to the impact, the bomb was ripped from the ground and the pillar supporting the station was also damaged.

According to the Salvador Traffic Superintendence (Transalvador), the accident happened around 4:30 am.

Teams from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) went to the scene, provided assistance to the victims and took them to the State General Hospital (HGE). There are no details about their health status.

The car the victims were in was removed by a Transalvador tow truck. The gas station’s electricity was cut off for safety reasons.

A maintenance team will assess the risk of fuel leaks on site. There is still no information about what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
