A tragic traffic accident that occurred early this Monday morning (29) on RS-342, in Três de Maio, involved two trucks and resulted in the death of one person. The incident took place near the physical speed bump located near the Carolina neighborhood, at around 7:20 am.

The two trucks, one belonging to a drinks company from Independência and the other from Banda Corpo e Alma, from Horizontina, were traveling towards Independência towards Três de Maio when the rear collision occurred, hitting the drinks truck. The vehicle spun across the road and collided with a tree on the side of the highway.
The two occupants of the truck were rescued by teams from the Fire Department and Samu. Unfortunately, the 44-year-old driver succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
The members of the Banda Corpo e Alma sound team were returning from the city of Sobradinho and, fortunately, the four were not injured.
The Military Brigade is controlling traffic at the site to allow the work of the IGP forensic team and the registration of the Military Brigade Road Command.
