Olympic runner-up at the Tokyo Games, Rosamaria is hopeful of shining in the Brazilian team that will compete in the Volleyball Nations League before trying to climb the Olympic podium again, this time in Paris-2024. Free from injuries, the winger celebrates the training phase at the Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV) Training Center in Saquarema and asks for calm so that the team can get together.

“Every year here seems very short, we arrive at the club with little time to rest, we already present ourselves and are, in fact, playing. It’s about taking advantage of every day here, every moment, to identify ourselves as a team. We all come from different schools , different championships, so it is important to adapt on the court so that we can play with the same mindset, the same volleyball, the same objective”, emphasized Rosamaria.

Since last week, already working with coach José Roberto Guimarães in the first group of call-ups, Rosamaria has not hidden her satisfaction at being able to take part in the work without clinical problems. Some injuries have taken her out of Brazil’s games since 2022, when she tore the ligament in her left ankle.

“I know that we have a very big objective, which is the Olympics and this League of Nations comes first so that we can grow, test, see what works and what doesn’t”, he highlighted. “Of course we can go after this title, but it is an important moment for us as a team to strengthen ourselves and arrive in the best possible way at the Olympic Games that are already knocking on the door. I’m sure everyone is very focused on achieving this The goal is to live each day and take advantage of the opportunity so that we can grow, with patience.”

Zé Roberto Guimarães awaits the arrival of setter Roberta, opposites Kisy and Tainara, wingers Ana Cristina and Pri Daroit, central players Carol, Thaisa and Júlia Kudiess and liberos Natinha and Nyeme, all of whom are part of the Brazilian team’s second call-up, to begin with. to give a ‘face’ to the team that will compete in the Volleyball Nations League.

The competition serves to improve Brazil, but will have the last five spots for Paris-2024 up for grabs, which promises to further increase the level of competition. The green and yellow team debuts against Canada, on May 14th, at Maracanãzinho. Then, they face South Korea (16th), the United States (17th) and Serbia (19th). Before the Olympics, two other phases of the VNL will take place. (Estadão Conteúdo)
