Combat sports united around the Cameroonian fighter
Francis Ngannou, former UFC champion, is mourning the death of his 18-month-old son. The painful information was shared by the Cameroonian fighter on his social networks in two posts. Ngannou is receiving full support from the combat sports community and various figures in social, political and sporting life in Cameroon.
“What is the purpose of life if what we run away from, fighting tooth and nail, is what hits us the hardest!? How is life so unfair and merciless? How is life always what we don’t have? I’m completely tired,” he wrote on ‘X’.
Hours later he wrote another, more direct post, asking for help to face the worst moment of his life: “Too early to leave, but he still went. My boy, my partner, my Kobe was full of life and joy. Now he’s lying lifeless. I screamed his name over and over again but he didn’t answer me. I was the best version of myself beside him and now I have no clue about who I am. it hurts more. How do you deal with this? How can you live with this? Please help me if you have any ideas, because I don’t know what to do and I don’t know how to deal with this.”
