An accident involving an ambulance, a truck and a car blocks traffic on Via Expressa de Contagem, near the Parque São João neighborhood, this Tuesday (April 30). The crash occurred around 5:05 am towards Belo Horizonte.
Initial information indicates that the driver of the passenger vehicle, a Fiat Prémio, was heading towards Betim, had fallen asleep at the wheel, crossed the road and hit the ambulance and the truck. With the impact of the crash, an axle of the truck detached and the vehicle ended up across the road.
The ambulance driver recorded a video shortly after the accident. “The driver (of the car) is fine. There was a total loss of the three cars, but God helped that there were no fatalities,” he said.
According to Transcon, the company responsible for traffic in Contagem, traffic was completely stopped towards Belo Horizonte at 6am.
