The driver of the accident vehicle suffered minor injuries and was transported to Padre Américo Hospital, in Penafiel.
The accident occurred on a municipal road, close to a junction with Estrada Nacional 108, in the place of Ametades, on the divide between the towns of Sande and Penha Longa.
“The vehicle may have lost track and crashed into a wall,” the fire commander, Sérgio Silva, told Lusa, indicating that the death was confirmed at the scene.
The incident was recorded at 9:18 am and firefighters from Marco de Canaveses were on site, with two ambulances, the Emergency and Resuscitation Medical Vehicle (VMER) and the GNR.
