Lawyer and client were murdered as part of a revenge plan for the death of a cowboy in RN, police say | large northern river

According to the police, the main target of the perpetrators of the crime was Janielson, Brenda’s client. He was being investigated by the Civil Police as a suspect in the death of cowboy João Victor Bento da Costa, aged 19, who was shot dead in the early hours of January 28, during a cattle drive in Parque Maria Salete, in Santo Antônio.

According to investigations, Janielson’s murder was premeditated and carried out by João Victor’s family and friends. The perpetrators of the crime waited for the suspect to leave the police station, on January 30, and executed him less than 1 km from the police unit.

In addition to killing Janielson, however, the criminals also murdered lawyer Brenda Oliveira, who was giving him a ride. Three other people from the family or connected to Janielson were also in the vehicle and did not die. The prisoners will also face charges of attempted murder.

Brenda and Janielson were shot dead inside the lawyer’s car, on January 30, shortly after leaving the police station in the municipality of Santo Antônio. The crime took place in broad daylight, around 3:30 pm, approximately 600 meters from the police station.

According to the Civil Police, the Operation “Jus Puniendi”, launched this Tuesday (30), had the objective of executing 20 search and seizure warrants and seven arrest warrants in the municipalities of São José de Mipibu, Espírito Santo and Goianinha.

The investigation is conducted by the Homicide and Personal Protection Division (DHPP), with support from the Police Intelligence Directorate, through the Qualified Investigation Center (NIQ), the 6th Regional Police Station of Nova Cruz and the 66th Police Station of Santo Antonio.

A video recorded by security cameras shows the moment the lawyer’s car was intercepted by at least four people who were on two motorcycles. The criminals shoot at the occupants of the vehicle.

The driver tried to escape the shots, accelerated the vehicle, but ended up leaving the road and hitting a parked bus. The criminals go to the place and shoot her and the client again.

Two days later, Janielson was arrested in Arez and taken to the police station to give a statement. He and his lawyer were killed shortly after leaving the police unit.

The double murder took place in the city center, around 600 meters away from the police station where the victims had just left. Janielson’s family members were also in the vehicle and were not injured.
