Diana Lucas remembers Sara Carreira’s accident, her divorce and that of her country

Diana Lucas was on TVI’s ‘Goucha’ and never stopped being asked about the tragedy the family went through.

Ivo Lucas’s sister recalled the accident that killed Sara Carreira, explaining that the “bubble” they always had was ‘essential’. It should be remembered that Ivo Lucas was the one driving the car in which Tony Carreira’s daughter was following.

“There is a bubble that we have always had. We have always been very united. […] Wherever my parents went, we went. And this relationship has always made the bonds very strong. At a more fragile time, the first step is: ‘ok, everyone come here to my house'”, she recalled, remembering that at the time her now ex-husband and daughter’s father “was on a mission”, as he is a soldier.

“We fell, obviously, but we all held each other up”he confessed, also admitting that they were three years of “great fragility”.

“It’s delicate for me and it’s complicated to talk about the subject, and I don’t like talking either”he said, because, after the accident, Diana Lucas stopped being the artist and became Ivo Lucas’s sister.

“That’s what gets complicated. After all, there are different careers, there were people who didn’t know that we were brothers and came to know that we are. It all happened at a time when I was releasing a new single, written by me and him, and suddenly I had to stop promoting it, because going on television, or being on television at that time, the subject was the same”he explained.

After being questioned by Manuel Luís Goucha, Diana Lucas shared that the Brother is now “well” and “calm”.

In addition to the tragic accident, which occurred in December 2020, the following year was marked by his divorce… and that of his parents. Diana Lucas said she separated at the same time as her parents. “I sat at the table and said I was going to get a divorce, and they [os pais] They said they were also going to get divorced. From then on, I stopped thinking about my divorce because I only focused on my parents’ divorce,” he said.

Still talking about his parents’ separation, he confessed that it is something that still “costs him”. “I don’t know if I’ll ever get over it. I accept it and I just want them to be happy, and I know they are, and we’re still in the same bubble.”he added.

Diana Lucas also highlighted that the ex-husband is your “best friend”. Regarding the reasons for their separation, in 2021, they shared: “Maybe too much time apartperhaps a lot of time, each one in their own space, and I think each of us learned to live in our own way.” The artist also assured that the tragedy that happened in 2020 “didn’t affect us.” See here.

“Obviously, going through everything alone made me feel like I could achieve a lot on my own, and I don’t know if, perhaps, I learned to deal with a lot on my own… Maybe it is that. But what we have built today is much stronger than, perhaps, our own marriage. Our daughter is happy”he also vented, highlighting that, for example, at Christmas they continue “to all sit at the table”. “Because we are family and we will always be. Family for me is everything,” he said.
