A 43-year-old cowboy was found dead with several gunshot wounds and a stab wound in Feira de Santana, 100 km from Salvador. According to the city’s Civil Police, José Rosalvo dos Santos’ son, a 12-year-old child, found his father’s body inside the farm.
The crime took place on Tuesday night (30), in the district of Governador João Durval Carneiro. José Rosalvo worked and lived there with his family. Until this Wednesday (1st), no one had been arrested.
According to the cowboy’s wife, he left the farm in the afternoon to go to the market. At around 6:40 pm, the couple’s son heard gunshots and went in search of his father.
Rosalvo was found with gunshot wounds to his back, legs and left arm, as well as a knife wound to his abdomen. He died at the scene.
According to his wife, José Rosalvo had a disagreement with a neighbor about six months ago, over a fence. Despite that, The city’s Civil Police cannot confirm that the fight had anything to do with the crime.

Deaths in Feira de Santana
Rosevaldo’s murder took place in the same week that seven young people were shot to death in Feira de Santana, the second largest city in Bahia. The young people’s homicides took place within an interval of approximately 48 hours.
In most cases, the suspects arrived at the young people in a car, shot them and fled. No one involved in the seven homicides was arrested.
Only one of the cases is treated as an attempted robbery. Matheus Santos de Abril, 25, was walking down the street with another person when he was approached by suspects in a red car. They announced the robbery and shot immediately afterwards.
Matheus died at the scene, while the person who was with him was hit in the leg, taken to a health unit and is not at risk of death.
The police investigate all cases.
