The Florida State softball team squares off against rival Florida Gators tonight as the end of the regular season draws close.
FSU (40-10, 18-3 in ACC) gets hosting duties this team after winning last week’s game 12-3 in Gainesville. Catcher Michaela Edenfield missed that game but is now back in an already terrifying lineup alongside Kaley Mudge, Amaya Ross and freshman sensation Jaysoni Beachum. The Seminoles enter on a 14-game winning streak, but UF (39-12, 14-7 in SEC) has one of the few offenses that can go blow-for-blow with FSU thanks to Skylar Wallace, Korbe Otis and Jocelyn Erickson .
The starting pitchers last week were Mimi Gooden (3-0, 3.90 ERA) for FSU and Ava Brown (14-5, 3.19 ERA) for UF. Gooden went three innings and gave up a run on three hits and a walk in a no-decision, while Brown gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks over four innings.
