In a press conference, the state governor, Eduardo Leite (PSDB), reported on the night of this Wednesday (1st) difficulty in rescuing those who are isolated, mainly in the Santa Maria region It is in the valleys (regions where rivers and municipalities are surrounded by hills and elevations, making water flow difficult).

In addition to the rain, which persists, the high volume of rivers makes it difficult for search teams to move.

“We will not be able to carry out all the rescues, because it is much more dispersed in this climate event that we are experiencing. And with difficulties, because the rains do not stop there. The state has had difficulties accessing the locations”, says Leite.

‘We won’t have the capacity to carry out all the rescues’, says Leite about storms in RS
