The letter that Emma Galisteu, Adriane Galisteu’s mother, wrote to her daughter after Ayrton Senna’s death is a touching testimony of family support and love in difficult times.
The presenter recalled a letter she received from her mother, Emma Galisteu, before the driver’s wake.
“Dear daughter: I know your pain is very great, but you are also strong. I would give everything, a piece of myself, not to see her in that state. But remember that I love you very much. You can count on me for everything”, declared the matriarch.
“Take care of yourself, God is good and is always with you. Also remember that you were very happy with him. Now it hurts a lot. This pain will pass, but the sweet memory of love you will never forget. Kisses from your mother who adores you”, added Emma.
Galisteu says he kept his mother’s letter as a kind of “pocket prayer”.
“She understood everything – she understands me. That’s why I never hid any of my feelings from her. That’s why I asked for her hand and her lap when, here, far from Brazil, even in a hospitable country, I started to rummage through my memories.”
