In fact, everything is being sprayed for diabetics, people just want to get fit because summer is just around the corner and last year’s bikinis don’t stretch.

Last week, actress and screenwriter Melissa McCarthy shared a photo on her social media with director Adam Shankman, regarding the Center Theater Group’s “CTG The Gala” event at the Ahmanson Theater, in Los Angeles, in the United States. In one of the many responses, one from Barbra Streisand stood out, which was meant to serve as a compliment but ends up demonstrating the craze that goes around with some injectable medicines, developed to combat diabetes, as they lower blood sugar levels. , but which ended up becoming one of the best and fastest weight loss formulas on the market. “Did you take Ozempic?” was the question that the 82-year-old singer and actress asked publicly on Instagram and what was supposed to be a compliment or a compliment quickly became the target of talk and multiple criticisms.

It’s not just in Hollywood that we see massive support, in Portugal there’s nothing else to talk about, especially among women. This authentic gold of the 21st century has become very difficult to obtain, with long waiting lists and half the world trying to put a wedge in to overcome that list, in good Portuguese fashion. In fact, everything is being sprayed for diabetics, people just want to get fit because summer is just around the corner and last year’s bikinis don’t stretch. In several WhatsApp groups where I am part, the questions asked to pharmacists are recurrent: “Can you get Ozempic in 0.5 and 1 mg?”. I even have several friends who, knowing that I know a lot of people, have already asked me the million-euro question, either for themselves or for their mother or for a friend who suddenly gained weight and doesn’t feel good about her body.

The difference between men and women doesn’t make the difference between men and women curious, at least judging by the sample I have of my friends. They talk about Ozempic, they talk about intermittent fasting. In relation to the latter, it is actually a practice with a lot of support in Portugal. I even have some friends older than me who stopped eating dinner a long time ago and don’t eat much after lunch. It’s a big deal for breakfast and lunch and then it’s over, largely due to difficult digestion and gastrointestinal disorders. Then there are also those who cut out breakfast and fast in reverse, that is, having an early dinner and then only eating again at lunch the next day. There are also purists of blood cleansing and other theories who fast for 24 hours or who do 3-day programs using only juices and water.

Nowadays, there are all kinds of diets, promises of perfect bodies and “eternal life”. In an age guided by social media, it is the incessant search for the perfect image that prevails most, with people not often looking at means to achieve ends. As for the “gold of the 21st century”, it seems that recent studies indicate that not everything is rosy and that it is also the cause for breasts to shrivel and become pear-shaped. According to one doctor, “Significant and rapid weight loss does not allow the skin enough time to recover, recede and shrink.” Be careful, that’s not it!! -
