House prices in the Algarve region stabilized in April compared to the previous month. Buying a house cost 3,334 euros per square meter (euros/m2) at the end of April this year. In relation to the quarterly variation, the increase was 1.5% and the annual increase was 7.6%.

According to data from idealista, prices in the region rose in Lagoa (2.7%), Aljezur (1.8%), Loulé (1.4%), Portimão (0.8%), Castro Marim (0.8% ) and São Brás de Alportel (0.6%). Prices remained stable in Monchique (0.5%), Silves (0.4%), Olhão (0.4%), Albufeira (0.2%), Faro (-0.1%), Lagos ( -0.3%) and Vila Real de Santo António (-0.4%). On the other hand, prices fell in Vila do Bispo (-1.8%) and Tavira (-0.7%).

The most expensive municipality to buy a house is Loulé (4,064 euros/mtwo), followed by Lagos (3,792 euros/m2) and Vila do Bispo (3,760 euros/mtwo). Next are Aljezur (3,614 euros/m2), Lagoa (3,474 euros/m2), Albufeira (3,362 euros/m2), Tavira (3,116 euros/m2), Faro (2,922 euros/m2), Castro Marim (2,882 euros/m2 ) and Vila Real de Santo António (2,837 euros/m2).

On the other hand, the most economical ones are in Monchique (2,300 euros/m2), São Brás de Alportel (2,525 euros/m2), Portimão (2,605 euros/m2), Silves (2,821 euros/m2) and Olhão (2,831 euros/m2) .

At a national level, housing prices remained stable during the same period, standing at 2,622 euros/mtwo.

The Algarve continues to be the second most expensive region in the country in terms of housing.
