Driver advances, causes accident and flees the scene, but sign remains behind: ‘Cowardly, irresponsible’

After suffering an accident, a driver was injured and alone at the scene because the other driver fled. The accident happened on Wednesday night (1), in the Vila Izabel neighborhood, in Curitiba. The escape would be “perfect”, if it weren’t for one detail: in the accident, one of the car’s license plates ended up falling off.

The collision happened at the intersection of Tabajaras and Professor Guido Straube streets. The vehicle punctured the right-of-way, hit the Clio and caused the driver to crash into the wall of a house.

Without thinking that he could help the driver, who was injured, the person driving the other car fled the scene. The driver, who was injured, called her boyfriend, who she had just left, minutes before the accident.

“When I arrived, the neighbors were already providing first aid, the citizen who knocked abandoned him, did not provide assistance and left”

said Charles de Oliveira, the driver’s boyfriend.

The woman was treated by rescuers. Although she had some injuries, she did not need to be taken to the hospital.

Driver fled, but license plate remained

The license plate of the car, which was left on the ground and was collected by the driver’s boyfriend, indicated that the other vehicle was a TAOS SUV, registered in Balneário Camboriú, in Santa Catarina.

“Totally cowardly, irresponsible, it’s impossible to know if he was drunk or not. But the license plate remained”

said the driver’s boyfriend.

The Military Police (PM) registered a police report (BO) of the accident. With the license plate data, it was possible to include the information in the police report and now the driver can seek justice.
