The Legal Medical Institute (IML) of Concórdia reported that the 30-year-old man who was killed on the night of April 30, in the Catarina Fontana neighborhood, was hit by more than 20 knife blows. Adilson Figueiredo dos Santos had a serious wound in the neck region, but the fatal blow hit his lungs.
The man, who was from Bahia, lived in the same house with the crime suspects. The body had not yet been removed by the IML family.
Four suspects were detained by the Military Police shortly after the murder, in the center of Concordia. They have already passed the custody hearing and three of them remain in the Concordia Regional Prison. One of the detainees was initially released, as he was not found to have participated in the attack.
A second man who was rescued remains hospitalized at São Francisco de Concórdia Hospital. It was not disclosed whether he was also one of the attackers or whether he had tried to defend the fatal victim.
The Civil Police continues to investigate the crime to determine the causes. There is a hypothesis that the fight between the residents of the house began due to suspicion of theft of food and objects within the group itself.
