Children were without car seats
According to the Civil Police chief, Rafael Mandu, responsible for the investigations, the children were without car seats, as required by law.
According to the deputy, there were beer cans inside the car.
“What was seen inside the vehicle was a certain negligence with traffic regulations regarding the use of car seats by children,” he stated.
According to Mandu, the crash happened after the driver of the car with nine people tried to overtake in a single-lane area, and collided head-on with the other vehicle.
So far, according to the delegate, investigations indicate that the driver of the second car was driving within the law.
The case is being investigated as a homicide, however, as the driver of the first car died in the accident, any possible punishment for the driver is extinguished, according to the police chief.
