Welington Pereira Duarte, 51 years old, was stuck to the hardware of the vehicle’s cabin, completely destroyed by the impact of the crash. He broke both legs and both arms. He was taken to HMC in serious condition, where he was intubated.

In addition to the driver, another employee was in the truck that belongs to a meat processing plant in the city. He suffered bruises and did not need to be taken to the hospital.

Inside the passenger car there were four people who died instantly: Pedro Miguel Fonseca, aged 44, Nadia Cristina Abraão Nascimento dos Santos, aged 38, Fagner de Souza, aged 43, Sheila Cristiane Vieira Brandão de Souza, aged 49.

According to witnesses, the driver, when trying to overtake, entered the opposite lane and hit the truck.

According to the police report, upon arriving at the scene, the bodies of the victims were scattered on the road.

The Governador Valadares Blood Center is located at Rua Barão do Rio Branco, 707, in the city center. Opening hours are from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

The conditions and restrictions for donating blood can be found on the Hemominas website. Among the basic criteria, it is possible to highlight:

Be in good health;
Be between 16 and 69 years of age. Young people aged 16 and 17 can donate, accompanied by their legal guardian or with authorization available at the link: Donation 16 and 17 years old From the age of 61, the candidate for donation must prove that they have made at least one previous donation.
Weigh more than 50 kilos;
Be well rested at the time of donation;
Be fed – after lunch, dinner or fatty meals, you must wait three hours to make the donation;
Do not drink alcohol 12 hours before donation;
Not have been exposed to a risk situation for blood-transmitted diseases;
Not having had hepatitis after the age of 11;

When donating, you must present an official and original identification document, with photo, affiliation and signature.
