Especially at a time when many millions of PRR will be distributed among several “economic housing cooperatives” for the construction of housing, supposedly, at controlled costs”, points out the BE.

“If all cooperatives do as we mentioned above, especially those that benefit from public funds through the PRR, this will constitute a serious fraud as it will subvert the entire philosophy inherent to the commercialization of properties through so-called “economic housing cooperatives” . Economic housing cooperatives are being taken over by the greed of making millions from the real estate market, when they should focus on providing housing properties at really low prices”, points out this party.

For BE, this fraud cannot continue and the next government in the Region will have to take other courageous measures to guarantee housing for those who need it.

BE reaffirms that the solution to the serious housing crisis must involve the imposition of maximum ceilings on rents, the prohibition of the sale or resale of housing acquired from “economic housing cooperatives” at speculative prices, the limitation of local accommodation, for the obligation to reserve 25% of properties in all new housing developments to be licensed, for the end of tax benefits for the rehabilitation of houses that are intended for purposes other than housing.
