The good and bad of taking the Honda Civic G10 home

The popularity of the model in the national market is unquestionable. Between 2016 and 2022 more than 141 thousand units were soldaccording to data from Fenabrave.

The high number of sales for a midsize sedan is completely justifiable, as the vehicle has always been a reference in driving pleasure and interior space.

If space is one of the most important attributes for you when choosing a car, don’t worry. The tenth generation of the model was also responsible for leaving it is even bigger compared to the previous line.

The car offers a total volumetric trunk capacity of 519 liters and 2.70 meters of wheelbase, thus ensuring the comfort of all occupants.

Furthermore, even the cheapest versions have a good interior finish and a series of items that make it a very complete vehicle.

Highlight for the wheels light alloy, air conditioning digital, six airbags and leather and soft touch finishing in several areas of the interiorsuch as the multifunctional steering wheel.

The driver also has access to items that make driving easier, such as automatic pilot, traction and stability controls and ramp start assistant.

However, as not everything is flowers, for you to take a copy home these days you will still need pay a considerable amount, even higher than the launch price at the time.

For a comparison method, the 2017 Sport 2.0 version was launched for a starting price of R$94,900, and could reach R$99,900 due to the color variation. The same version is currently sold for R$ 97,073, in the market usedaccording to data from the Fipe Table, in April 2024.

It is also necessary to consider that the Civic 10 never had advanced driving equipment, such as the Honda Sensing package, consisting of adaptive cruise control, emergency braking and lane departure alerts with steering wheel correction.

The sedan has undergone a few recalls throughout its life. Units from the 2019 and 2020 Touring version lines were recalled for fuel pump repair.

At the time, Honda stated that some units may have faults in the fuel pump module, interrupting the flow of fuel to the engine.

This interruption could turn off the engine while the vehicle is moving and cause material damage, serious injuries and even fatalities to the vehicle’s occupants and/or third parties. It is worth remembering that all recalls are free.

Autoesporte recommends

If you are looking for a Civic 10, know that it is an excellent choice. If the extra power of the top-of-the-line version is essential, Don’t be afraid to opt for older versions. There were few changes made to the model from the beginning to the end of the generation, and this decision could save you a lot of money.

However, if the Civic’s more conventional engine is already a good size, the 2020 line could be the best choice, as from then on the car became even more complete. Our recommendation is the EXL versionon sale for around R$ 120 thousand, price of an entry-level City sedan. This configuration already offers leather seats, digital air conditioning, multimedia center and speed controller.
