The Subway Kidnapping 1 2 3 is often described as one of Tony Scott’s weakest films. But while it’s not as notable as its absolute highlights – which include Unstoppable, The Last Boy Scout, Top Gun and Point-Blank Love – it’s still a very gripping thriller that’s well worth seeing.

As with Joseph Sargent’s original thriller The Subway Hijack, the plot of Scott’s remake also involves a hijacked New York subway. The criminal Ryder (Travolta) and his heavily armed gang take control of a train with several hostages. He demands several million dollars in 60 minutes – otherwise people will die one by one.
