A tragic incident occurred around 10pm yesterday (4) on Rua Sergipe, in Jardim dos Estados, in Angélica, located 272 kilometers from Campo Grande, resulting in the death of Emerson Lopes, 33 years old, victim of gunshots . During the riot, his 45-year-old brother was also shot.
According to reports published by the Iviagora website, three individuals invaded the backyard of the residence where the victims were, with one of them firing the fatal shots. Emerson was hit and died at the scene, while his brother was rushed to the ABA (Associação Beneficente de Angélica) with injuries to one of his legs.
The suspects fled the scene of the crime, and so far no information has been released about the motivation behind what happened, nor whether the perpetrators have been identified. Local authorities, including the Military Police, the Civil Police and the Technical Forensics team, were called to investigate the incident and provide assistance.
