An elderly woman, aged 79, died after a head-on collision between two cars, at KM 145 of BR-259, near the district of São Vitor, this Sunday afternoon (05), in Governador Valadares.
According to the Military Highway Police, the driver of the vehicle heading towards Vitória/Belo Horizonte reported that he was driving on the road, when he suddenly saw that the car heading in the opposite direction turned left to enter a gas station. He stated that he was unable to avoid the crash.
The impact left the front of both vehicles completely destroyed.
In addition to the elderly woman, who was in the car that was going to enter the station and ended up not resisting her injuries and died, three other people were taken to the Municipal Hospital of Governador Valadares in serious condition.
They are: the driver, 85 years old, who was driving the car that was going to enter the station, the driver, 56 years old, who was driving the vehicle that was going towards Belo Horizonte and a 24 year old girl, a passenger in the car that was going towards Belo Horizon.
