NASA sees “surfboard” on the Moon?
In 2009, NASA launched the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO), with a mission to investigate the Moon’s surface in detail in order to identify possible landing sites, natural resources and interesting features such as lava tubes. The spacecraft has already mapped about 98.2% of the lunar surface, disregarding the deeply shadowed regions in the polar areas.
Recently, LRO spotted what appeared to be a kind of “surfboard” passing at high speed around the orbit of the celestial body.
This is the Danuri spacecraft, launched by South Korea in August 2022. This is the country’s first lunar orbiter, and its mission is to develop and test technologies – including space internet – and make a topographic map of the Moon’s surface.
