The Local Development Program (DEL) for Tourism started, this Monday (6), Fernando de Noronha, the free course “Instance of Governance in Tourism”. The training takes place until Wednesday (8), at Escola Arquipélago, from 2pm to 5pm.
In addition to members of the Tourism Council (Contur), the course also includes students who are residents of the island interested in the subject, and are at least 18 years old. In total, 22 people participate in the training.
The course organizers reported that the training directs local tourism actions. The initiative is part of the Fecomércio System, through the Social Service of Commerce (Sesc) and the National Commercial Learning Service (Senac) of Pernambuco, in partnership with the island’s Administration. After completing the course, participants receive a certificate.
DEL Turismo consultant, Katiane Dantas, stated that the course will bring benefits to sustainable tourism. Dantas explained that it will be an opportunity for people who live on the island to give their opinion on what the priority objectives will be for Noronha to pursue in sustainable tourism from now on, with the goal between 5 and 10 years.
The DEL Tourism Program was launched in November 2023 and is the result of a technical cooperation agreement between Fecomércio do Rio Grande do Norte and Fecomércio de Pernambuco, with the transfer of this methodology from Senac-Rio Grande do Norte to Senac- Pernambuco.
According to the Island Administration, it is planned to apply the technology developed by the DEL Institute, of German origin, with an investment of R$700,000.
