Father and stepmother arrested on suspicion of killing 7-year-old boy in Vinhedo

The Vinhedo Guardianship Council (SP) reported that received anonymous complaints who pointed out that the 7-year-old boy who died with signs of torture, this Monday (6), was a victim of mistreatment – father and stepmother were arrested on suspicion of murder.

In a statement, the organization reported that the family began to be monitored after the allegations, but did not give details about what it called “due monitoring”. Finally, he lamented the crime: “We are also outraged, with an immeasurable feeling of deep regret.”

At the scene of the crime, a Civil Police investigator said that the Guardianship Council had been called to the property a few times on suspicion of mistreatment. This Monday, the police station received a report, around 11am, and upon arriving at the property, they found the child dead.

According to the investigator, the victim showed signs of being tied up. The child was naked and bleeding all over his body, indicating possible torture.

“We received anonymous complaints about the child (…), where the content of the complaint was that he was suffering mistreatment. The family began to be monitored by this body where the appropriate referrals were made.

Unfortunately, on today’s date, we were surprised by this fatality that occurred and we clarified that, for measures such as the loss of custody to be carried out, it would be necessary to exhaust all possibilities with the family, therefore, in the face of such negligence, we would continue communicating the fact to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The board regrets what happened with deep regret. We are also outraged, with an immeasurable feeling of deep regret.”

Father and stepmother are arrested on suspicion of killing a child with signs of torture in Vinhedo

The father and stepmother of the dead boy with signs of torture were located and arrested on Rodovia Miguel Melhado de Campos (SP-332), between Vinhedo and Campinas. The father was in a car, and the stepmother was on a motorcycle. Residents of the region tried to lynch the couple.

They were taken to the city police station. When they arrived at the Vinhedo police district, the father only said that “it wasn’t him”.

Family members informed EPTV, a TV Globo affiliate, that the boy was raised by his aunts, since his father served five years in prison for the crime of robbery. The boy would have been abandoned by his mother.

The child would have returned to live with his father about a year ago. According to family members, the stepmother mistreated her stepson out of jealousy.
