FC Porto entered a new era this Tuesday with the inauguration of the new governing bodies of the blue and white emblem. André Villas-Boas, António Tavares, Angelino Ferreira and Fernando Freire are the faces who will lead the blue and whites for the 2024/28 four-year period.
At Estádio do Dragão, in front of 450 people, including Rui Moreira, Pedro Proença, Manuel Pizarro, as well as all the captains and coaches of the amateur teams, André Villas-Boas began his speech by remembering everyone who was part of the history of FC Porto and who shaped it into a “fundamental institution for the social and cultural growth of the City, the North Region and the Country, a standard-bearer for the values and ideals of its people and their culture”.
“Being a Porto fan is a state of mind and it is in this unity that we find ourselves here. Today we begin a new era in the history of our club. An era that will have my commitment, and that of everyone who makes up my team, to elevate the good name of FC Porto, reinforced by the sense of demand of all Portistas and respecting the importance of their achievements”, began by saying André Villas-Boas.
The new president of FC Porto also spoke of the importance of the electoral act and the desire of the members “to bring about a historic change in the direction of Futebol Clube do Porto” and that “three fundamental pillars” remain, whose trust was placed in the new bodies.
