A man was injured after the car he was driving caught fire in an accident on BR-365, in Monte Carmelo, this Monday (6). The accident involved three other vehicles, two utility vehicles and a gas truck.
The Federal Highway Police (PRF) responded to the incident and reported that a fire was taking place on the sides of the highway and, due to the smoke, drivers were slowing down as they approached the scene.
A gas truck was approaching the traffic jam and slowed down. A pickup truck that was behind collided with the back of the truck. A pickup truck, which was on the road, also hit the back of the truck.
Finally, a car with Uberlândia license plates hit the pickup, lost control and left the road, stopping at the scene of the fire. The car caught fire and the driver was taken by the highway concessionaire to the Monte Carmelo Municipal Emergency Room.
The PRF reinforced that in times of drought it is common to have fires in vegetation on the sides of highways and in cases of smoke screens, in which drivers cannot see, they should not cross, but rather use the shoulder and wait for the smoke to clear. dissipate.
