The Ukrainian Security Services managed to dismantle a network of Russian agents who were plotting the assassination of the Ukrainian president, according to Reuters.
These agents, operating under the cover of state guards, not only planned the assassination of Volodymyr Zelensky, but also other Ukrainian government officials.
“Counterintelligence and SBU investigators [Serviços de Segurança da Ucrânia] frustrated the FSB’s plans to eliminate the President of Ukraine and other high-ranking representatives of the state’s military and political government”, declared the SBU on its Telegram channel this Tuesday.
According to the same source, cited by the Ukrainian news agency Interfax, this network was supervised by the FSB in Moscow and included two colonels from the Department of State Security who leaked confidential information from the Russian Federation.
