The participation of Maradona in the tournament she is especially remembered for the two goals scored against England in the quarter-finals. The first goal, in which Maradona beat the goalkeeper English Peter Shilton with his hand, he became known as the “Hand of God”. The second was a remarkable move from midfield, dribbling past five English players, and was subsequently named the “Goal of the Century”.
