Beef prices registered few fluctuations in the physical market, while the supply of cattle is still at favorable levels for the industry and demand is considered moderate. “Quotes for all categories remain stable and scales [programações] of slaughter continues, on average, to 11 days”said Scot Consultoria in a bulletin this Tuesday (7/5).

In Barretos (SP) and Araçatuba (SP), live cattle were priced at R$ 230.29 per arroba, a decrease of 0.87% in the daily variation, according to a survey by Scot. In the north of Mato Grosso, however, there was a slight increase of 0.03%, to R$209.65 per arroba.

The Cepea/B3 live cattle indicator also varied little yesterday (6/5), with a slight drop of 0.02% to R$ 233.75 per arroba.

Agrifatto analysts commented in a report that Some regions have already begun to experience difficulties in keeping cattle on pasture due to the lack of rain, while others are still able to manage supply better. The approach of the drier period, with the transition from autumn to winter, tends to worsen pasture conditions.

On the demand side, the arrival of the first fortnight of the month generates expectations of an improvement in the flow of meat in the domestic market.

“Currently, there is a firm demand for bone-in meat intended for domestic consumption, especially castrated and hindquarter beef, priced at R$15.80 per kilogram and R$17.75 per kilogram, respectively. Expectations continue [alta] for Mother’s Day and a possible reduction in the quantity offered on the market shelves”, estimated Agrifatto.
