Adeliana is the PL’s greatest asset to govern at least 1 of the 5 largest electoral colleges

Adeliana, the PL and the five largest electoral colleges

Just as I recently discussed the ability of the mayor of São José, Orvino Coelho de Ávila (PSD) to win elections, I want to do justice and also talk about his opponent, Adeliana Dal Pont (PL). The former two-term mayor left city hall three years and five months ago with an excellent rating from the population. And this is what puts her in the lead in all unofficial electoral polls in this pre-campaign.

Adeliana, among the pre-candidates for mayor that we have here in Greater Florianópolis, has an enviable resume. She was twice a councilor, municipal secretary of Health, twice mayor of São José, deputy secretary of State Planning and Secretary of State for Regional Development. She is prepared and knows what to do in that chair.

“If Adeliana is not the most Bolsonarian of the PL pre-candidates, one thing is certain: Adeliana is the most mayor of all”.

It was this electoral potential that made governor Jorginho Mello invite him to be the PL candidate for mayor of São José. The governor is pragmatic! He knows that Adeliana, among PL pre-candidates in the five main electoral colleges (Joinville, Florianópolis, Blumenau, São José and Chapecó), is the most viable. Due to her political size, she adds a lot to the party’s project. More delivery than required, electorally speaking.

Governor Jorginho Mello joined Adeliana in the PL

A good part of the PL’s most Bolonarist wing has already accepted Adeliana. Only a small Shiite wing persists in resisting. They point to past positions of the former mayor. If this is a ruler to measure allies, not even Jorginho himself could be a Bolsonarist. In fact, not even Bolsonaro himself could be a Bolonaro supporter, given that he has also flirted with PT governments in the past. These are noises that tend to be silenced as the election approaches.

If Adeliana is not the most Bolsonarian of the PL pre-candidates, one thing is certain: Adeliana is the most mayor of all.

Boos

The mayor of São José, Orvino Coelho de Ávila (PSD) felt a somewhat cold “affection” from the public during the Rodeo dos Praianos. He took the stage moments before country singer Ana Castela’s show and received a loud boo. Apparently, the mayor’s assessment is not very good on the streets, with the people.

Lack of advice

Orvino showed that he is poorly advised. Any communications advisor or politician knows that these pre-show moments are ‘political suicide’. Those there want to see even the worst artists in the country, but they don’t want to see a politician on stage. Even if the mayor is well regarded by the population, he risks being booed. Imagine when your acceptance is there on the ground what Orvino’s reality is like. The mayor is experienced, but this was juvenile.
