Vizela firefighters are to be congratulated today on their 147th anniversary

The Royal Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Vizela marks, this Wednesday, May 7th, another anniversary. To celebrate, the barracks takes to the streets again this year, setting up throughout the day in Praça da República. Later, at 9pm, congratulations will be sung and the entire community is invited to participate in this special moment.

The celebrations continue on Friday, the 10th, with a parade of vehicles through the parishes, starting at 9 pm and then, on Saturday, the solemn ceremonies will take place. The graduation and raising of the flags takes place at 2:30 pm, followed by the pilgrimage to the cemeteries of S. Miguel and S. João (2:45 pm) and the Eucharist at the Church of S. Miguel (4:00 pm). According to the program, at 5:15 pm a tribute will be paid to the Firefighter and then, at 5:30 pm, the reception of entities and guests will begin and the imposition of decorations on the Fire Department and blessing of vehicles. The formal session is scheduled for 6:15 pm and will be broadcast on Rádio Vizela. Closing the official celebrations, the usual dinner party begins at 7:30 pm.
