Young man killed after leaving gay sauna fell head over heels, images show

According to images obtained by the Civil Police, publicist Yuri Castro, 23 years old, found dead on April 22, apparently fell from the roof of a house located on Rua General Osório, in the Santa Ifigênia region, downtown São Paulo, after leaving a gay sauna.

The building in question is just over 500 meters from the Hotel Chilli gay sauna, located in Largo do Arouche, where Castro was last seen. Information obtained by UOL indicates that the video was captured by a security camera at a nearby store.

The images also show the injured publicist, lying on the sidewalk. The DHPP (Department of Homicide and Personal Protection) carried out a search and seizure warrant at the sauna on Friday (3) and obtained records from the night Yuri was there. Employees of the establishment were also questioned.

Initially, the young man’s death was considered suspicious, with the cause being polytrauma: multiple injuries that occur simultaneously in more than one organ or body system. The investigation requested a toxicological analysis and is awaiting the results.

Context

Yuri disappeared after leaving the Chilli Hotel in the early hours of April 22nd. The police report indicated that he was rescued by a Samu ambulance (Mobile Emergency Care Service) on General Osório Street.

Subsequently, the young man was taken to a UPA (Emergency Care Unit) in Liberdade, also in the center of São Paulo. Yuri’s body was identified by the family at the IML (Legal Medical Institute) on the 24th.

Sauna Chilli, the place where Yuri was before his death, lamented the young man’s death and stated that it was “investigating all the events”. The establishment confirmed that the boy was there and left at 4:25 am on April 22nd.
