Organized by the Portuguese Band Academy (APB), the II D’Ouro Philharmonic Festival takes place on the afternoon of May 1st, at Europarque, in Santa Maria da Feira.

The event featured the participation of the Fajões Musical Band. In addition to the band from Fajo, the festival had performances by the Banda Filarmónica 25 de Março (Lamas), the Banda de Música de Belinho, the Sociedade Filarmónica de Crestuma and the Banda Musical de Arouca.
Manuel Silva, president of APB, explained to Azeméis TV/FM that “the Portuguese band academy is an association that has existed for 12 years and has always been dedicated to training conductors and organizing major events”, justifying the creation of this Filarmonia D’Ouro with the need to “give this festival a new look [Filarmonia ao Mais Alto Nível] and create Filarmonia D’Ouro, which effectively started last November, in which we already had two groups from Oliveira de Azeméis, the Banda de Santiago Riba-Ul and Orquestra Juvenil de Fajões”.
António Aguiar, president of Banda Musical de Fajões, told Azeméis TV/FM that participation in this festival “has the main objective of promoting philharmony, which is the genesis of the festival. Then, the fact that the band can perform in a space like this, which is probably the best concert hall in the North, is always an honor for us.”
The next edition of Filarmonia D’Ouro will be on November 24th, at Europarque, in Santa Maria da Feira.
