The Mato Grosso Court accepted the complaint from the State Public Prosecutor’s Office and made Wendel dos Santos Silva, 37, a defendant for stabbing his fiancée to death in Peixoto de Azevedo.
The decision was made by judge Paula Tathiana Pinheiro, from the 2nd Court of the District of Peixoto de Azevedo.

Leidiane Ferro da Silva, 43 years old, was killed in her kitchen on April 14th. The crime was recorded by the residence’s security cameras and shocked Mato Grosso residents.
“There is evidence of the criminal materiality and sufficient evidence of authorship, which constitutes just cause for the initiation of the Criminal Action”, said the judge in an excerpt of the decision.
If he does not appoint a lawyer to defend himself within 10 days, the judge will appoint the Public Defender’s Office to the case.
The crime
The images of the crime show the killer walking between the kitchen and another room, while the victim is standing next to a young woman, who is sitting at the table.
After Wendel and Lediane exchanged a few words, the woman appears to serve a plate of food. The killer then returns to the kitchen with his finger raised and takes a knife.
Unable to react, Lediane is struck in the back, close to the back of the head and falls to the ground. Frightened, the young woman who was sitting runs out of the house. A boy then appears in the images, but soon runs away when threatened.

Another record from security cameras shows that, after the murder, the man even recorded a video simulating that he was going to take his own life. In the images, you can see him saying “bye” while filming himself on his cell phone.
After turning off the device, he begins to untie the rope he had placed around his neck.
