Roberto de Carvalho mourns one year after Rita Lee’s death: ‘So much love cannot end in pain’ – Verso

Musician Roberto de Carvalho, 71, widower of Rita Leelamented the one year since the rocker’s death, this Wednesday (8). On Instagram, the artist shared an old photo taken with his wife, to whom he was married for 27 years.

“Bleed my heart and then, please, calm me down. Bring back my soul. Mitigate this desire to leave. So much love cannot end in pain. I will gather a lot of courage for the last trip to you. See you forever, my love” , wrote Roberto in the caption of the publication.

Rita Lee died at age 75 in May 2023 after going through treatment against lung cancerdiagnosed in 2021. She left three children as a result of her relationship with Roberto de Carvalho: João, Bento and Antônio.

Partnership with her husband

The musical partnership with her husband began in 1976. Together they produced five albums: Rita Lee and Roberto de Carvalho (1982), Bombom (1983), Rita and Roberto (1985), Flerte Fatal (1987) and Rita Lee & Roberto de Carvalho “Perto do Fogo” (1990), in addition to the many tours and the partnership on stage until the last show.
