The Asus Republic of Gamers (ROG) line presented this Tuesday (7) a new cell phone for the Brazilian market. This is the ROG Phone 8, which arrives in the country in both the traditional version and the ROG Phone 8 Pro Edition.
The high-performance gaming smartphone was originally presented in January this year by ASUSduring CES 2024. However, at that time no details were revealed about its arrival in Brazil, which usually receives the manufacturer’s models.
The ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro Edition are now available for purchase on the brand’s official website. The promotional launch price is from R$9 thousand, with several payment methods accepted. There is a 10% discount on Pix and the possibility of paying in up to 12 interest-free installments on your credit card. Already “full” prices are R$9,999 and R$11,999respectively.
More than a gaming phone
The ROG Phone 8 was imagined by Asus ROG to be not just a gaming smartphone, but also a high-performance mobile device in aspects other than entertainment.
Much of this evolution is in the camera set, now also aimed at more demanding content creators or photography enthusiasts. The main 50 MP rear camera has a built-in gimbal stabilizer, which means blur-free images even when you’re moving.

It is accompanied by a 32MP telephoto lens with 3 times zoom and one 13 MP ultrawide lens. This component comes with a 120º angle, ideal for capturing photos of landscapes or large groups of people. The front camera is a 32 MP ultrawide lens for selfies, with an RGBW sensor that brings sharp colors and details even in low lighting.
In terms of technical specifications, Qualcomm’s top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor is accompanied by a neural processing core (NPU) that performs artificial intelligence (AI) functions. In this field, the smartphone includes both everyday functions, such as Semantic Search or the generation of an exclusive wallpaper, as well as optimizing the device’s performance.
The ROG Phone 8 also has up to 24 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage in the Pro Edition. Your screen has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a maximum refresh rate of 165 Hz and maximum peak brightness of 2,500 nits.
The model also has a screen back called AniMe Visionwhich is a Mini-LED panel for displaying varied and customizable animations.
