MArco Gonçalves, known as ‘Orelhas’, was sentenced to 18 years in prison and his son, Renato Gonçalves, to a sentence of 20 years in prison, in the case of the murder of Igor Silva, the fan killed during FC Porto’s title celebrations in May 2022.
For the third defendant in the case, Paulo Cardoso (‘Chanfra’), uncle of Renato Gonçalves, the sentence was 18 years, the same as that of Marco ‘Orelhas’.
The information was provided by Jornal de Notícias, which also revealed that the president of the group of judges of the São João Novo Criminal Court highlighted that the defendants acted in “combination of efforts”, chasing, restraining and delivering successive blows to Igor Silva, preventing your escape.
Remember that this trial has seven defendants accused of qualified murder, three of harming the physical integrity of a young girl and one of possession of a prohibited weapon.

According to the indictment, consulted by Lusa, since the beginning of 2022 the defendants, three of whom are accused of qualified homicide, maintained a climate of conflict with the victim motivated by attacks between them and family members.
On May 8, 2022, at around 2:00 am, during the celebrations of the title of national football champion won by FC Porto, some of the defendants got involved in a heated exchange of words with the fatal victim (Igor Silva), next to the Estádio do Dragon, sustain.
