The Civil Police opened an investigation to investigate the death of a prisoner inside a cell at the Provisional Detention Center (CDP) 2, in Pacaembu (SP).
“The preliminary information given by cellmates is that the deceased had committed suicide. However, a precise conclusion will depend on the expert reports of the IC [Instituto de Criminalística]who examined the cell and the scene of the incident, and the necroscopic examination by the IML [Instituto Médico Legal]”, the Civil Police detailed to g1.
The São Paulo State Penitentiary Administration Secretariat (SAP) also opened an investigative procedure to check the circumstances of the death that occurred on Monday (6).
“It was 11:40 pm when criminal police officers found him in the cell, which he shared with three other men, hanging with a sheet tied to a railing,” the state department reported to g1.
“The management requested technical expertise on site, as well as necroscopic examinations. The case is investigated by the Pacaembu Police Station, where a police report was registered, and the family was informed of the facts to release the body”, concluded the SAP.
