In the early morning of May 9, at around 6:20 am, emergency services were called to respond to a road accident on Estrada Nacional 257, on the Viana do Alentejo/Alvito route. The incident involved two passenger vehicles, resulting in six victims with minor injuries.
In immediate response, the Viana do Alentejo and Alvito Fire Department, with the local GNR of Viana and Alvito, as well as the COM of Alvito, moved to the scene of the accident. In total, 10 Firefighters and 2 GNR vehicles were mobilized, with a total of 28 operational personnel.
All victims were treated at the scene and later transported to Évora Hospital to receive additional medical care. The causes of the accident are being investigated by the GNR.
