* The regional secretary of Education, Science and Technology, Jorge Carvalho, will be present, at 9:30 am, at the opening session of the II Seminar on Health and Well-being at Work, which will take place at the Funchal Cultural and Research Center.
* The Funchal City Council executive meeting will take place today, at 9:30 am. Statements at the end of the meeting are scheduled for 12:00.
* The regional secretary of Economy, Sea and Fisheries, Rui Barreto, will participate, from 10 am, at Gare Marítima do Funchal, in the presentation of the MadeiraGoFish application.
* The Aqui Acolá Festival is back from today until Sunday, May 12th. It takes place in emblematic points of Vila da Ponta do Sol, with several stages, which includes the sea front of the village, its old part, the auditorium of the John dos Passos Cultural Center, an old police station with ‘Estado Novo’ architecture and a chapel, originally built in the 17th century. XVII. The Aqui Acolá Festival also brings theater, dance, literature and cinema, in an event that gives a stage to local and regional artists, who share it with others of greater national or international prominence. The opening of the event is scheduled for 10:30 am, at the John dos Passos Cultural Center.
* The Regional School Dance Festival, which is part of the 2024 Flower Festival Program, will take place between today and tomorrow, on the concert stage, at Placa Central on Avenida Arriaga. There will be two daily sessions, at 11am and 3pm, each lasting 45 minutes.
* The president of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, will be present, at 11:30 am, at the anniversary ceremony of Casa de Saúde Câmara Pestana, taking place at the facilities of this institution, at Rua do Lazareto, nº 125.
* ‘The 50th anniversary of April: Views and Perspectives’ is the theme of the conference that Alberto João Jardim will give at 11:30 am, in the session room at Escola Secundária de Francisco Franco.
* At 12:30 pm, the press conference to present the 12th edition of the MEO Sons do Mar Festival will take place in the main hall of the Funchal City Council.
* Europe Direct Madeira promotes Europe Day today, at 3pm, in the main hall of the Legislative Assembly of Madeira, with the debate forum ‘The future of democracy’. The event will be attended by the president of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, and the president of ALRAM, José Manuel Rodrigues, among other speakers.
* The Baltazar Dias Municipal Theater hosts on stage, between today and Sunday, the show ‘Abril em Maio’, by Sara Gonçalves, which will mark the end of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April in the city of Funchal. The premiere is scheduled for 7pm.
* The Madeira Classical Orchestra will hold the Solidarity Opera Gala to benefit the ‘Centro da Mãe’, promoted by ‘KW Area Madeira’, at 9pm, at the Madeira Congress Centre.
