The group demands a “reform” in “defense of the democratic rule of law” and points out “failures” in the sector, blaming the Public Ministry for the “fall of two parliamentary majorities resulting from recent elections”, relating to the Government of António Costa and the Government Madeira Region.
In the coming days, another 50 names will be known who subscribe to the manifesto of the 50 from last week. RTP found that there were several interested parties in the last few days and that there are six more names already confirmed.
They are Miguel Cadilhe, economist and social-democratic politician; Valente de Oliveira, academic and former social democratic minister; Teresa Caieiro, former CDS-PP deputy; Richard Zimler, journalist and writer; Manuela de Melo, journalist and former PS deputy; and Pedro Marques Lopes, jurist and commentator.
