DC repeats most infamous scene from Batman v Superman

Batman v Superman is one of DC’s most controversial films, and Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part 2 managed to repeat the DCEU film’s most inane scene better eight years later.

The DCEU has faltered along its path, with important characters like Superman disappearing for years, and when they were finally on screen they were treated poorly. Among the DCEU’s many divisive films, Batman v Superman was the one that tipped the scales for the franchise.

The film failed to be the resounding success that the first cinematic meeting between Batman and Superman should have been, falling far short of the DCEU’s best films.

There have been many controversial DCEU film decisions, from Jesse Eisenberg’s over-the-top performance as Lex Luthor to the death of Henry Cavill’s Superman in just his second film.

However, the film’s most talked-about moment is undoubtedly the “Martha” scene, and the recently released Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part 2 finally made that line work into a clever reference.

The animated film featured a reference to the “Martha” moment from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, although neither Batman nor Superman were present in the scene.

Instead, the moment in question featured Green Lantern John Stewart and Pariah, the latter of whom was revealed to be John Constantine.

When Pariah and John Stewart were talking, Green Lantern spoke his own name angrily, reminding Pariah of his true origin – John Constantine.

This version of DC’s Hellblazer is the same as the character who was part of the DC Animated Film Universe

While the Batman v Superman moment didn’t work, the reference to it in the animation was more effective.
