Quatro Barras City Hall mourns the death of a resident victim of a runaway truck; family riots over free driver

The City of Quatro Barras, in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba (RMC), expressed its regret over the death of Gisle Aparecida de Almeida Pichorz, aged 57. She was hit by a runaway truck that invaded the sidewalk on Thursday morning (9). The driver was detained, but was released in the afternoon.

As the Banda B report found, Gisle used to walk along the same route, on Avenida Dom Pedro II, in Jardim Orestes Thá. The truck driver lost control of the steering wheel, invaded the sidewalk and ran over her. He also ended up hitting a pole.

Through social media, both Quatro Barras City Hall and Mayor Loreno Tolardo spoke out.

“With enormous consternation and regret, I express my condolences to the family of resident Gisle Aparecida de Almeida Pichorz, victim of a tragic accident in the central area. Faced with a moment like this, we lack words. May faith and unity be encouragement to every friend and family. My condolences to Vilson, your husband, and your children Lígia and Pedro. Strength to all.”

said the mayor.

According to the note published by Quatro Barras City Hall, Gisle was the wife of a server who works in the municipality.

“Wife of our server Vilson Pichorz, and mother of Lígia and Pedro Pichorz, victim of a tragic accident this Thursday. We offer our solidarity to the entire family and friends, wishing them strength and faith in this sad moment”

Both publications had many comments, with people showing solidarity with Gisle’s family at this time. She should be buried this Friday (10), at the Borda do Campo Cemetery, in São José dos Pinhais.

Driver released

At the scene of the accident, the Military Police (PM) even suspected that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel.

“He possibly lost his driving because he fell asleep at the wheel. That’s what he believes, because he says he doesn’t remember very well. He probably fell asleep at the wheel.”

said Lieutenant Marjory Hoiser, from the PM.

He was arrested and taken to the city police station in the morning, but left in the afternoon. The news of the driver’s release outraged the victim’s family and the family’s lawyer, Camila Andreatta, told Banda B that the driver in question showed clear signs of using some type of drug.

“He took a breathalyzer test which came back zero, but he had clear signs of drug use or rivet medication. The police chief didn’t set bail, he said he could leave and that he should take the request to do the Of course he won’t do it, he won’t produce evidence against himself.”

According to the lawyer, the driver was already convicted in 2020 for carrying 29 kilos of marijuana. Witnesses reported having seen the respective truck since 2 am traveling through the city and being involved in other accidents.
